Air conditioning systems need good filters

2024/05/22 16:07

For many years, air conditioning designers have selected filters based on the user's environmental needs, and today more and more people are realising that the air conditioning system itself needs to be protected by a good filter.

Using only low efficiency filters, air conditioning systems can suffer from many faults.

-Airway blockage, fan fouling, reducing airflow.

-Reduced efficiency of heat exchange components.

-Temperature and humidity and other measurement and control components are out of order.

-Dynamic end air supply device failure.

-Total heat exchange device failure.

-The accumulation of dust in the ducts with moderate temperature and humidity is an ideal place for microorganisms to flourish.

Air conditioning systems need good filters

Many central air conditioners, after one or two years of use, a significant decline in performance, open the air conditioner, the problem at a glance-its phenomenon: accumulation of dust; its root cause: low filter efficiency.

In some countries, when using the efficiency specification of F5 filters, the central air-conditioning system needs to be cleaned every 5 to 8 years; when using F7 efficiency filters, the central air-conditioning system does not need to be cleaned for more than 30 years. In some central air-conditioning systems, the filter is only primary, or there is no filter at all, after a few years of use, the interior of the system is unsightly.

Setting up a higher-efficiency filter will add some cost, but that cost is nothing compared to the damage caused by using a poor filter. The cost of shortening the life of the air-conditioner due to dust build-up is far greater than the cost of using the best filter. The cost of cleaning (the air conditioner needs to be cleaned) will also be higher than the cost of using the best filters.

For a good air-conditioning system, the filter efficiency specification should be F6~F7.
