Introduction to the principle of filtration
When fine particles touch a fixed object, the gravitational force between the two surfaces sticks them together, and this is how the filter works.
Large particles move in the airflow in an inertial manner. When the airflow encounters an obstacle, the particles deviate from the direction of the airflow due to inertia and hit the obstacle. The larger the particle, the stronger the inertia force, the greater the possibility of hitting the obstacle, and therefore the better the filtration effect.
Small particles make irregular Brownian motion. The smaller the particles, the more violent the irregular motion, the more chances of hitting the obstacles, so the better the filtration effect.
The filter material should fulfil two requirements, one is to be able to effectively intercept dust particles, and the other is not to form excessive resistance to the airflow. Non-woven fibre materials and speciality papers meet this requirement. The messy interwoven fibres form numerous barriers to dust, and the wide spaces between the fibres allow airflow to pass through smoothly. In application, the more commonly used filter materials are synthetic fibre and glass fibre. Synthetic fibres are mostly used in primary filters and glass fibres are mostly used in high efficiency filters.
Air filter is a device for filtering dust particles in the air, which is generally used in clean workshops, clean factories, laboratories and clean rooms, or for dust prevention of electronic and mechanical communication equipment. Therefore, it can be said that the air filter is to obtain clean air that can meet the standard.
General ventilation filter is to capture dust particles of different particle sizes in the air, so that the air quality is improved, this filter has a wide range of uses, microelectronics industry, coating industry, food and beverage industry and so on are in need.
Chemical filters not only absorb dust, but also adsorb odour, usually used in biopharmaceuticals, hospitals, airport terminals, human settlements and other places.
