Air Filter Filtration Grade Standard
The "filtration efficiency" of an air filter is the ratio of the amount of dust captured to the amount of dust in the original air.
The meaning of efficiency may seem simple, but its meaning and value vary greatly depending on the test method. Among the factors that determine the filtration efficiency, the "amount" of dust has many different meanings, and the filter efficiency values calculated and measured as a result are also very diverse. In order to save time and reduce misunderstandings, a number of methods of expressing efficiency by means of codes have emerged, which both specify the test method and define the efficiency index.
There are two sets of filtration standards that are more commonly used in the market today, one is the European Standard and the other is the American Standard. Of the two, the European standard is more common. Simply put, air filters are divided into primary filters, medium filters, HEPA filters, ULPA filters. The specific classification criteria are shown in the table below.
