Functions of Various Air Filters in Clean Rooms

All kinds of air filters have certain functions, and their functions determine their role and scope of use. Functions and roles of all types of air filters:

• The function of the primary efficiency filter is to remove ≥5μm dust particles, as a pre-filter in the purification air conditioning system, its role is to protect the medium efficiency, high efficiency filter and other accessories in the air conditioning box to extend their service life.

• The function of the medium efficiency filter is to remove ≥1.0μm dust particles, as an intermediate filter in the purification air conditioning system, the role is to reduce the load of the high efficiency filter and extend the service life of the high efficiency filter and the accessories in the air conditioning box.

• HEPA filter is the terminal filter in the air conditioning system, its function is to remove ≥0.3um dust particles, to achieve the purpose of purification, is a necessary purification equipment for clean rooms.

• The function of the chemical filter is to remove chemical pollutants that may be present in the clean room fresh air or circulating air, and it is an air filtration equipment that should be located in the air conditioning unit or the end of the clean workshop.

• Fan filter unit (FFU) is a terminal purification equipment that can provide its own power by combining fan, filter (HEPA or ULPA), box, control unit and so on.
